I have worked in libraries since I was 16. It all started because I had two study halls and I did most of my studying at home because it was quieter. So for two years I worked in the elementary library. I helped the students find books to check out, checked out their books and sometimes read to them. The last two years of my high school career I worked in the high school library. I checked out students materials, put materials away and delivered movie projectors and overheads to the classroom ready for the teachers to use. I also subbed for the public librarian when she would go on vacation! In college, I worked in the four years as a work study student. Of course we spent a lot of time shelving and checking stuff in. Later in life I came back to the library and worked as a Children's librarian for four years. Here I learned quite a bit and made many new friends in the community. For seven years I worked as a Media Specialist and finished a Masters in Media Education. I am currently working for a private college as a librarian and I am still learning. One thing I do know is that I enjoy working in libraries and helping people find answers.
